Last winter, two friends convened a small group of Long Island’s business leaders, consumers, and influencers, to discuss the challenges black Long Islanders and black business owners face on the Island. The group continued to expand and within a few months formed an advisory committee to identify key goals and develop plans for amplifying black-owned businesses into what would later become the Black-Owned Long Island.
The idea is not biased against other business on Long Island. Instead, our goal is to be a catalyst for Black-Owned companies and connect them with consumers that are interested in their business.
