Come with us down the rabbit hole and meet Jessica Green, owner of Down the Rabbit Hole Wine Boutique in Sayville — A name inspired by Alice in Wonderland.
This 100 sq ft boutique nestled in an alleyway with a whimsical look and feel houses outrageously delicious artisan wines, small lot vintages, and organic/bio dynamic wines from vineyards all around the world.
Jessica began her wine career while attending nursing school. While in school, she worked at a boutique vineyard and winery on the North Fork of Long Island.
She grew up on the east end and her interest grew as she began working in the tasting room and assisting in the vineyard. Following her passion, she began studying to become a sommelier. She believes wine should be fun & approachable and loves every second of sharing what is on the boutique’s shelves.
Jessica patronized Down the Rabbit Hole Wine Boutique many years ago before she purchased it back in 2017 — she never imagined she would the wine shop years later.
“It’s important to me that when my clients leave they are confident in the wine they purchased and feel even more confident ordering it at a restaurant.”
Not only does Jessica create the ultimate experience for her clients. She also sources wines from Black-Owned wine makers around the world. Bottles range from $8.99 – $300 making it affordable for everyone.
In addition to a selection of wines bursting with flavors, the boutique offers wine consulting and in-home tastings.
“ We encourage people to come in and explore our wall of wines and broaden their palate.”
